Two outstanding generations of the MK nozzle shape have become widespread - the MK8 and MK10. There are a number of differences between the two nozzles, but the most notable is that the MK8 nozzle has a 6mm thread diameter, whereas the MK10 nozzle has a 7mm thread diameter. It is worth noting that MK8 nozzles are not compatible with MK10 extruders, while the converse is also not true, that MK8 extruders can be used with MK10 nozzles. Since the bore diameter of MK8 nozzles has not been modified, you will find many more compatible replacement nozzles in our webshop.
MK8 nozzles are available in different sizes. They range from the smallest 0.2mm Ø up to 1.0 mm Ø. They are also available in three different materials. Brass is suitable for general printing. It is extremely accurate and does not oxidise due to its good thermal conductivity. Brass nozzles are recommended when using PLA, ABS and PETG materials. The outstanding feature of acid resistant steel nozzles is their high thermal resistance. Hardened steel nozzles should be chosen when working with carbon, metal or wood materials. In addition, their durability is outstanding.
The world of 3D printing is still in its infancy. The results so far are outstanding, but it is still unclear what new innovations will come from this field. Today, 3D printers can be found in many households. One of the most prominent components of the printer is the nozzle, which is used to deliver the melted plastic filament to the printer table. Nozzles, like all components, wear out over time and need to be replaced by a new nozzle. It's worth thinking ahead about what kind of material you are working with or will be working with in the near future, what effect you want to achieve with your print, whether you are printing to a precise and standard or generic print with your 3D printer. You can choose from a variety of nozzle materials, diameters and head shapes in our online shop. Each nozzle works great when used for the purpose it was designed for. That's why it's important to know exactly what you're looking for before you buy. We have also created a separate category for MK8 nozzles to make your search easier.
