Filament
Filament or plastic filament is used as a raw material in 3D printing. The filament can have different textures and colours. Today they are available in an amazing variety of colours and shades. Filaments are sold in rolls. Some material types and colours are available in 3kg packs, but the most common is the 1kg roll size. The plastic filament is melted by the 3D printer at a high temperature and the nozzle is used to continuously layer the melted filament onto the printer table. This is how the model you want to print is formed and shaped. The filaments are available in two sizes in diameter, 1.75mm and 2.85mm.
Among several types of filament, the most commonly used are ABS, PLA and PETG. All three types of filament are available in all colours at all levels. All three can be used in a variety of applications. The most commonly used filament material is PLA, a plant-based plastic that is thermoplastic. The other filament types require lower temperatures for printing. ABS is a thermoplastic that can be used to create a strong and tough end product during printing. It is the second most widely used printing material after PLA. PETG is a thermoplastic filament, a material that can be used in the food industry. In addition to these three main materials, we also have twelve other types of materials that can be viewed.
The filaments in our webshop are made by the European manufacturer Herz-FILAMENT Hungary. High quality filaments are also suitable for industrial applications. In the production of filament, care is taken to work only with pure materials. They are produced under quality control. After purchasing the filament, keep it in a cool, dry, dark place as per the manufacturer's recommendation. Once opened, it is recommended that you use the product within 12 months, as after this time the plastic material may lose its elasticity and other properties. In addition to HERZ-FILAMENT, there are also Zortrax filaments, which are compatible with Zortrax printers, and TREED TPE filaments, which are widely known for their flexible properties.
